About Me

I am currently the Manager of Communications at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University. That means I wear a lot of hats—and that has been the nature of much of my professional life. My formal education is in graphic design, printmaking, art history, and instructional technology. And if you figure out how old I am, you might guess that I started out in the world of design long before the web existed—so my training in web design has been self-directed and by fire. And even though I still get all tingly feeling when I'm surrounded by paper and the smell of ink, the potential the web—and technology in general—has to enhance learning and communication intrigues me more. On any given day you can find me editing the copy of a newsletter, building a website, working with faculty and administration on web needs for a research project, managing a team of savvy communications professionals, designing an event poster, and then some. If you want the nitty-gritty details of my experience, check out my résumé and portfolio pages. My goal is to help educational institutions promote their work and communicate their missions effectively in as many mediums necessary to serve their needs—and of course I want those messages to look fantastic too.
